What does it say about this group if Mikami's the first one to go outside?

[Mikami's route after talking to Light online consists of heading from the office which he's decided will be his bedroom though he's left nothing there to claim it as such, back to the laundry room and changing into L's spare clothes, then heading outside to explore the outside area. He has a notebook and several pencils with him for sketching out a rough map, using his watch and counting his steps to try to estimate distances.

Once the sky starts turning pink and purple and darkness is on the horizon he'll head back, sure to be back before it's anywhere near fully dark. His first stop once inside will be to the office to put down his things, then to the laundry room to fetch his suit, then to bathroom #2 to shower, then back to the laundry room to drop off L's clothing, then back to the office.

Mikami's not trying to be particularly covert, or if he is, he's bloody terrible at it. Feel free to run into him outside, see him through a window, or catch him coming or going through the front door at any point during the above log of activities.]

I'd have to disagree. If you were in for murder, it would be relevant. If you say you were falsely accused, I'd like to hear your story.

And what do you think the context for me knowing you would be?

My original theory is that my father is the one behind your arrest.

I need to know if you're a danger to the others here.

You're already theorizing that I'm a criminal, one who's taken to revenge stalking. Is there any answer that would put you at any sort of ease?

It's not a farfetched theory considering you did come in a uniform.

Have you heard of Kira?

It's a reasonable theory given the evidence you have on hand, and that's the problem. Even Kira can only know what information is leaked. Rather than appealing to you or anyone else here in vain, the most I can do is my best to survive while trusting in God's power and judgment.

There is a reason I'm asking about Kira. Likely, tonight, you'll hear a wild theory that involves the two of us.

Being ready to be accused of such a crime myself, I'm more apt to listen to your own story.

[His mouth widens into a deeper frown, eyes scanning him over, head to toe, then settling on his face again.]

We haven't really tried. We've been assuming we wouldn't be believed.

...It might not be impossible to put it in a way where you can believe me. [If he's given a minute to think, he looks around to make sure they're alone.] You really don't remember me at all?

You phrase that like you're sure I should.

[He sighs, the fruit still unwashed in front of him.] One of our guests believes she's from 1997. Our mysterious, hiding fifth claims to not know me despite how close we've been forced to become, but considering I'm a prime suspect in his case and he's known to go to extremes, that much could be a ploy.

And your last memory is of 2007, isn't it? If that's really the length of your memory, that would make sense, but... Neither you nor Haneoka-san have anything unclear in your mind or memory, nothing at all bizarre happened before coming here. What about your accuser?

Pragmatic. Everything he does is to try to lure out a confession, so I can't take much of his word at face value. He's not a murderer in our time. Rather, he's probably one of Kira's biggest opponents.

What year do you remember?

[Glasses adjust.] An opponents of Kira, is he? More importantly than what I remember, what can you tell me about him?

I do find it important. I don't mind exchanging what information I can, but that requires a trade. I'll be forthright and say I won't be able to tell you more. It's for his safety.

He's an enemy of Kira. His days are numbered, if he survives this entire kidnapping affair. [Mikami does not sound remotely displeased with that.] In fact, it's possible that all of this is some machination of God's. Writing off the supernatural entirely is seeming less and less rational after all. If that's the case, I shouldn't have anything at all to fear. This might even be a blessing!

I would ask that you avoid being alone with him. As someone who supports Kira, I'm sure you already know who he is, so there's no reason to seek him out to find whatever clues might be needed.
