What does it say about this group if Mikami's the first one to go outside?

[Mikami's route after talking to Light online consists of heading from the office which he's decided will be his bedroom though he's left nothing there to claim it as such, back to the laundry room and changing into L's spare clothes, then heading outside to explore the outside area. He has a notebook and several pencils with him for sketching out a rough map, using his watch and counting his steps to try to estimate distances.

Once the sky starts turning pink and purple and darkness is on the horizon he'll head back, sure to be back before it's anywhere near fully dark. His first stop once inside will be to the office to put down his things, then to the laundry room to fetch his suit, then to bathroom #2 to shower, then back to the laundry room to drop off L's clothing, then back to the office.

Mikami's not trying to be particularly covert, or if he is, he's bloody terrible at it. Feel free to run into him outside, see him through a window, or catch him coming or going through the front door at any point during the above log of activities.]

[Who else is out there? Hey, it's the house mother. And she's... inspecting the fishing nets.]

It looks like they expect us to fend for ourselves once the food runs out. It's already been quite some time in here... Oh, hello!

[He's frankly surprised to see anyone outside. But it's decidedly a pleasant surprise, particularly as it looks like she's doing something practical.

As friendly as she greets him, he still approaches slowly, one hand raised in what looks about as much like a wave as it does a cautionary motion one might make when approaching an animal and wanting it not to bite or run.]

You're fishing?

I'm not suspecting they'll restock the food any time soon. [sigh] So until someone comes for us, we've got to survive while we're here.

No. Even if it'd be possible for them to do it without showing themselves, it'd serve them better to keep up a sense of urgency. [Time to roll up his sleeves and approach the nets to have a look at what there might be to pull in, then. He may be a desk jockey, but at least he's a desk jockey with a regular gym routine.] Even if it is a feigned one.

Ah, I'm Mikami Shou. It's nice to meet you.

That's what I was thinking. Plus they'd know we would use it to get a chance at escaping. I do wonder where we are, really...

It seems that all of us are from Japan and the products stocked are Japanese, even if the house's design is Western.

That would narrow some things down, except that others claim to be from the future. Yagami-kun was convinced for days that I must have hit my head.

So you've also met Yagami-san. He didn't try to dissuade you from coming outside?

I didn't ask. Though he certainly seems to be taking charge, young as he is, doesn't he? I'd peg him to be in high school, but he's saying I look like a target.

To be frank, it's suspicious. [After pulling up the net, he adjusts his glasses and takes a look at the haul of flopping fishes.] He was encouraging everybody not to come outside. But staying where we've been placed would be playing right into the captors intent.

[momingstar]

I suppose. [She inspects them and hoists her end up.] But isn't being too suspicious also playing into their trap? And who knows what could be out here, after all! Besides, I wonder about the others. I don't know how we'll keep everybody safe at this rate.

There isn't even murderer. There is a kidnapper, one painfully well resourced, but that's all so far. [A frown--or a deeper one than his default expression. Saying "that's all" of what's sounding to be like part of the biggest conspiracy he's ever heard seriously suggested by anybody not on a street corner, a secured mental health unit, or an internet forum is ironic, and irony is too close to humor for Mikami to appreciate. Particularly as a victim of it.] That's enough.

That's what I was thinking, but this "warning" is probably meant to push someone to make it self-fulfilling just to make themselves feel safe. Those types do that.

[An hour after their talk, Light had decided to go outside himself, but he limited it to the garden. With sheets in hand for lack of anything better to pack them in, dressed in the suit for lack of better clothing, he was gathering some of the food growing in the garden. Not entirely happily considering his inexperience, but that was hidden well and he was doing a decent enough job.

He would start on the watermelons before moving to strawberries and then bananas. Depending on when, or if, he's approached, he would have the various fruits ready for packing inside.]

[It may be more than an hour later, but it's likely while Light is still at the task since it's quite a bit to do alone that Mikami comes back from the docks with two wet buckets of fish. While that's surely seen as a good thing, in line with what Light himself is doing, as soon as Mikami spots him--either in the kitchen or in the garden since he's coming from the north beach---he realizes he's in the outfit they both saw him leave in the laundry room earlier as not his.

Maybe that's the reason he frowns when he sees Light, again staring silently at the man he was supposed to check for a message from, to determine a meeting time later. Maybe it's because Light now knows his reason for saying he'd check for messages around sunset was because he planned to do the opposite of what Light suggested he not do--go out.]

[He had his sleeves rolled up, though dirt had soiled the once-white shirt, probably something that didn't happen often for him. It doesn't take long of lifting watermelons to work up a sweat either, so he wasn't in the best of state to be seen.

He wouldn't hear a visitor.]

[After a brief stare, he builds up the nerve to tote the buckets with fish swimming about in and sets them on the counter.

Maybe they can just say nothing. The kitchen's big enough to not really have to acknowledge each other.

Yes, that will be the least awkward.]

[At the counter furthest from the sink, he leaves that much open for Mikami. It seems to catch him by surprise to see someone else come in, but he goes back to trying to remove the fruits from the sheet.]

You've been out collecting too?

Fish. [He says as if it's not obvious what he has. He'll stay away from the sink and favor the island so that Light can wash the fruits appropriately.]

[For now, he stays where he's at.]

I've not been past the garden. Did you find anything interesting?

I still need to do mapping. But seeing Haneoka-san doing this much alone...

She's outside alone? [He frowns.] She really does seem determined, but I wish she would be more careful.

You probably don't approve of my intent to map the location either.

No, I don't. In fact, I actively advise against it and ask that you get others to help should you go.

[He sighs, standing up away from the fruit.] But that's all I can do.

[Rather than do much more with the fish, he actually has no idea what to do with live fish in fact, he turns to face Light, staring, considering.]
