10 PM Meeting - Laundry Room

[As your character may know if they'd been watching the network thread, Mikami and Light have plans to meet at 10PM in the laundry room. Mikami will end up being about 10 minutes late.]



[OOC: Intended multi-player thread. Feel free to jump in early and run threads until someone interrupts, feel free to interrupt the thread whenever your character does arrive. Since this game tends to move slowly and we're beta, consider going out of turn if appropriate (interruptiong, etc.) as we try to feel this group process out.]

[Mikami's run is fairly swift; he's familiar enough with the office, being where he's been sleeping, to know where envelopes are. He's even set them out on the office desk for everyone else's convenience, dropping one off on the kitchen counter as he returns.

Immediately his nose wrinkles. His eyes go immediately to Atsushi before he can even ask what the smell is.

He left the lot of you alone for five minutes and this is what it comes to?

God of Death, a giggling giant who appears to be smoking a joint, some kind of horrible little blasphemous fish-eyed monkey, or Light. He picks Light to look to as the responsible adult, to explain this in a way that will make it okay.]

I'm handling it. But, for now, it's probably best if someone else goes while I do.

[His eyes go to L.]

[L smiles back.]

[takethecake]

Ehhh? [He rocks back and forth from the balls of his feet to his heels while crouching on the washing machine.] But it's just getting interesting. I want to see Yagami-san "handle" this...

This is your plan. I'm sure he'll be happy to reenact this later.

[takethecake]

[As he climbs down he makes sure his agreement is very labored on his way out.] Yeeees....

[airlynx]

Ya can move!?!? [Atsushi had not seen L move once since entering the room.]

[takethecake]

Yes. [He stops, hands in his pockets to face him. He still doesn't stand up straight.] I've startled you. I'm sorry.

[airlynx]

Oi...can ya teach me how to move too?

[Atsushi implores from his place on the floor. Unnoticed by all, he had slid down the wall to lean against it. A poke would have sent him falling, as he could not find the energy to do anything more than keep the blunt clamped between his lips.]

Yagami-san, please have this handled when I return.

I'll do what I can. Just keep going with the plan.

[Seeing nobody else actually handling it, Mikami moves to nab the joint from Atsushi's mouth.] Really.

No, yer holding it wrong. Here, I'll show ya how.

[Atsushi grabs his wrist and pulls down, prepared to demonstrate to Mikami how to properly apply the dank.]

Kh! [He tries to resist coming down as best as he can, reaching with his other, still free hand to grab the joint from his own fingers, quickly pressing it against the washing machine to put it out.] Even if there's no proof of a murderer or anyone's intent to murder at all, we have all been kidnapped and put into a high-stress situation, armed with deadly weapons! Can't you read the air at all?!

[airlynx]

Read the air? I can see the air. [His eyes widen.] Does it have words on it?!?!

[andeatit]

The atmosphere is stressful. [Light offers easily.] But we have to stay calm. Panic is your biggest enemy in high stress situations.

[Ryuk seems perfectly content to limit his interaction with the situation to quietly mirthful observation - accustomed to lurking invisibly. Old habits die hard.]

[Considering it handled for now, Light would sigh, ready for L to come back. They still had most of the room to go.]

[Atsushi sighs too, stretching his arms up in the air in content. Since he has borderline yaoi hands, he reaches up so high that the tip of his lit blunt hovers dangerously close to Light's hair.]

[andeatit]

Careful, careful. [Light reaches up to try to grab it now.] I'd prefer not to be put on fire.

[eraser_rain]

[Angrier, more snappily, Mikami will make yet another grab for that joint, this time hoping to have a better shot at actually getting it away from him when he has it up at everyone else's face level.] Are you trying to kill somebody or just make yourself the candidate for the first to be killed?

[airlynx]

[Atsushi casually discards the joint to the side, letting it smoke peacefully on the floor.] I'd kill for another joint.

[andeatit]

[Light's eyes went to the door L had gone through.]

Please stop saying such things. I do plan on being a detective and they are still against the law. Focus on the investigation. I'm sure we can find other activities in the meantime.

Nuh-uh. They's only illegal in Japan, and as someone already told me, we ain't in Japan anymore.
