A game of clues

[So far, he had been very, very unsatisfied with his progress. Normally, things worked much more smoothly but being dropped into highly tense situations with people who seemed sure of their own paths hadn't made for a cohesive team. While he still felt they were safer in groups of three, it was time to do some real exploration.

The first thing was first: physically searching for clues. He'd stay in the house of course, as he still felt the surrounding land brought on too much threat of danger for the moment and he wanted more clues, or even a clue, toward the locked door in the laundry room. The bedrooms were his first step, as he wanted to look through the computers for potential clues and try to once more assess how many people had appeared. He would knock before going into each. If there was no answer, he would go inside and begin his searches, starting with the computers to see if any held any unique information. The rooms themselves would also be searched for anything that might hold numbers - he was fairly confident that while it was meant to be a difficult puzzle, it was meant to be solvable. Coming from Bedroom 2, he would move to Bedrooms 5, 4, and 3 before moving onto the Master Bedroom.

From there, he would move onto the middle and opposite sides of the house. The Dining Room, Great Room, Kitchen, Office, and finally the Laundry Rooms would be explored. There was no time for sloth.]

[ooc: basically, Light's looking through the entire house. If you want to avoid him, you can have hijinks ensue and have your character move between rooms while he's looking in other rooms; he also won't find any characters that are outside.]

Despite your theories back at home, I have nothing to do with this. I'm in as much danger as you are.

[With a sigh through his nose and a tap of a finger on the keyboard, he reaches to push a button on the camera again.]

It isn't streaming. So I'd like for you to answer a few things honestly if you would.

Of course I'll agree, but will you believe my answers even if they don't match the ones you want?

We'll start with that. What answers do I want?

The same answer you've wanted since we've met: you want me to confess to being Kira.

[takethecake]

[If he had eyebrows they'd be intensely furrowed. His head tilts, maybe a little too far to the side, almost as if just letting his head fall in that direction rather than really tilting it. Lips puckering and protruding as if tasting something sour he reaches for a cup sitting by the open bag of sugar and rights his head as he takes a sip.]

Since we've met?

[He blinks because he's not sure what part of that requires clarification. It's only when he realizes some woman thinks it's 1997 that he begins to form a theory.]

You do remember who I am, don't you?

That may be a dangerous question to answer...

It's necessary to establish before we go further.

With a potential murderer among us, I'd prefer not to take actions that may trigger a dangerous response. Arguing with someone's deeply held belief can lead to anger and further mistrust.

[He fights between taking a step forward and staying in place. Staying in place wins.]

I'm a very rational person. Having an honest answer from you could say a lot about this situation. I've promised honesty. You can't do the same?

That's quite an emotionally charged request.

It comes from a place of ration. We have a woman who believes she is from the year 1997. If there are mental effects, we need to know them.

And what year are you from?

[andeatit]

The current year. [He sighs.] 2007. If I ask the same, will you answer me?

[For a moment he looks so surprised that he forgot to be expecting his visitor to murder him at any moment.] Two thousand.... seven?

[andeatit]

[Can he trust that response?]

What year do you remember it being?

[takethecake]

I still have questions. [His hand holds up like a student waiting to be called on.]

[andeatit]

I don't mind answering questions, but I'd like some answers myself. What year do you remember being from?

If I suspected you of something at some point, it seems dangerous. Could you tell me what I suspected you of?

[andeatit]

[He sighs again.]

It would have been nice to have known you without the suspicion. If you let me know the year I'll know what I need to fill you in on.

Is everything too much to ask?

When some of it could be avoided if you would answer the one question I've asked? It's going to be a long story and you've caused a bit of trouble for me as well. Knowing the year isn't too much to ask.
