10 PM Meeting - Laundry Room

[As your character may know if they'd been watching the network thread, Mikami and Light have plans to meet at 10PM in the laundry room. Mikami will end up being about 10 minutes late.]



[OOC: Intended multi-player thread. Feel free to jump in early and run threads until someone interrupts, feel free to interrupt the thread whenever your character does arrive. Since this game tends to move slowly and we're beta, consider going out of turn if appropriate (interruptiong, etc.) as we try to feel this group process out.]

That would still require us to each leave with a deadly weapon. Destroying these should be priority.

Each of us can leave our note here with the Shinigami until our return.

We've created an atmosphere in which a Shinigami is the most trusted among us. But, I'm fine with that much.

If you can call it that. He has ample paper if he wants to kill us through that method, and he cannot be overpowered for these. [He reaches into his pocket and holds out his map and letter to Ryuk.]


Then, I'll head first to set an envelope.

[The shinigami's grin is invariably unwholesome, but he accepts the papers amicably.]

Then, when he returns, I'll go next.

[And Mikami's out. He'll either come back in a few posts or everyone can put in that they're quiet for the next 5 minutes.

Mod note: if your character decides to put anything in their envelope, when the characters check it (it can even just be "Apples rock" if your character wants to put something random in), post any contents in an anonymous/logged-out comment.

We can either wait 24 hours after the post checking envelopes and if nothing is posted assume all are empty, or everyone can PM sheep_dog that you don't have anything to post and if they have a PM from everyone they'll let me know we can move the thread on.

I'm assuming Haneoka-player is out of the game at this point so please hand-wave as much as possible regarding her.]

[In the brief silence that follows, a faint sweet-ish aroma diffuses around the room. The source is Atsushi, who is holding a self-rolled blunt that looks suspiciously like it's made out of note paper.]

[A sucking noise as L enjoys the candy Mikami didn't want helps fill that sweet-smelly silence.]

What paper is that made from?

[Atsushi takes an extra-nice drag and then exhales loudly, drowning out L's candy-eating noises.]

Eh, this? This is that paper with the damn map on it.

That's the notes we've been discussing. If you could put it out, there's more paper around the house.

After I've taken fuckin' forever to roll it? I don' think so. Are ya wantin' one too? I can show ya how to fix it so it doesn't fall apart.

I don't smoke. I'm sure you could roll another just as good on a sheet of paper that isn't evidence.

Ya don't...smoke? Funny, cause ya're smokin' hot! [Atsushi lets out a boisterous, intoxicated laugh, giving the others reason to suspect that he is higher than a kite.]

Isn't your plan to destroy them all anyway?

[When he turns to Atsushi, he's much friendlier, even offering a smile with his warning.] Atsushi-kun, it's dangerous to fall in love here.

As your friend, I won't ask what's inside of the paper, but I will ask you to be careful what's done in present company.

As for the paper itself, we need to be able to assure all sheets are destroyed.

Huh.

Can't say I've seen anyone use it for that before.

[Mikami's run is fairly swift; he's familiar enough with the office, being where he's been sleeping, to know where envelopes are. He's even set them out on the office desk for everyone else's convenience, dropping one off on the kitchen counter as he returns.

Immediately his nose wrinkles. His eyes go immediately to Atsushi before he can even ask what the smell is.

He left the lot of you alone for five minutes and this is what it comes to?

God of Death, a giggling giant who appears to be smoking a joint, some kind of horrible little blasphemous fish-eyed monkey, or Light. He picks Light to look to as the responsible adult, to explain this in a way that will make it okay.]

I'm handling it. But, for now, it's probably best if someone else goes while I do.

[His eyes go to L.]
