Mikami's morning rounds and location logs

[Mikami's morning schedule is as follows unless interrupted;

From a little after midnight until 7AM, he'll be sleeping on the office couch, in full suit and tie, aside from his shoes at the front entrance. He's a light sleeper but not so light somebody intentionally trying not to wake him couldn't enter and do something.

At 7AM he will wake up and look out into the main area, then return to check the computer if nothing's thrown him off schedule.

Unless he makes alternate plans due to talking to anyone via computer, at 7:30 he'll briefly check the laundry room. He'll then head to the Master Bathroom and proceed with basic morning hygiene and showering.

By 8:00 he'll head to the kitchen and either interact with whoever else is there or just make coffee alone.

At 7:30, he takes Ed to the laundry room and moves the laundry to the dryer before heading to the beach with him.

...This is a rather dry read, but that's Mikami for you. For being transported into a murderous land of magic and mystery where waking up alive is perhaps a small miracle, his morning habits are quite normal. Arguably unsettlingly so. He seems entirely comfortable and at home in the setting to anyone observing.]

There's nothing convenient about a group. [His voice is a low grumble as he starts to head for the door. Though he doesn't know where the laundry room is located, he knows it's not here.]

[Having checked with Light (that's you) about the thread with Ginko, the main area will likely be empty when they pass through after 7:30AM. Mikami's eyes scan the area as they step out of the office, looking to see if Ed seems to instinctively know the way, looking for signs of him pretending not to know the way.

He will eventually, if Ed prompts him to or seems not to be trending in any certain direction, take a decisive if silent lead through the kitchen and to the laundry room.]]

[Ed seems to have no idea where to go after leaving the bedroom. These people were so rich they had to waste a room for a place to wash clothes, but that doesn't mean he can guess where it's located. So, once they exit, he stops and finally follows behind Mikami.]

Laundry Room

[Once in the laundry room, he stops to examine the clothing that's there. At this point, there's Atsushi, Misa, Ed and Ginko's second sets of clothing are hanging up still. Mikami doesn't seem very happy with that. He doesn't seem any less happy than usual about it, either.

Without wasting much time he heads to the laundry machine, digging the clothing (Light's second set of clothes, L's second set of clothes, and a prison uniform) out to put into the dryer, continuing to make no particular face over it other than the perpetually displeased one he's been wearing since waking up.]

[Ed's is just a white shirtt with a wide neck circled neckline, and a black pants; it's his training clothes. Frowning, he steps around Mikami to reach for them.]

How'd this end up in here? [There's no need to change, but they're his, and it might help on the boat.]

A second set's arrived here at the same time each person has. [After pushing the buttons to start the dryer, he takes a hanger from the row of clothing and starts taking off his tie and jacket to hang on it.] At least two more people've come with you. Two are girls, it seems...

[It's an absent remark as he remains more distracted by the fact that he'll have to put on plain white prison sneakers. They clash with a dark green suit something awful, damn it.

Why doesn't the plain dressing freak near enough to his size at least wear shoes?]

It'd make a lot more sense to get them all now instead of having to come back. [For now, amber eyes watch him.]

Has somebody here been in jail?

Weren't you the one who asked what's convenient about a group? [After unbuttoning his shirt sleeves, he starts rolling them up.] Yes. Why?

I don't need the group, the group needs me.

Because we're leaving a houseful of people alone with a criminal.

And in theory a murderer.

Because you're doubting the skills of a master alchemist. Just get changed already.

Even if you are able to make a boat, Paracelsus, it may not be much use. That's assuming that what the Shinigami said was true, admittedly. [He settles for having to roll up his pant legs for the time being.] Let's go.

We came all the way here so you can get roll up your sleeves? What about the clothes?

Somebody else started the wash. They'll take too long to dry.

You're from one of those places that's never had an alchemist, huh? [Grinning - he looks like he already knows the outcome - he points at the washer.] Get them out. I'll show you how easy that is for somebody as good as me.

[eraser_rain]

You're going to transmute wet clothing into dry clothing? [That's supposed to be a joke, but his tone is flat enough it could sound serious. Particularly since that is, presumably, exactly what he is going to do. But none the less, he does stop the dryer and reach to pull out the white shirt, holding it out despite the sense he's going to regret this.]

[Wow, this guy is easily impressed. That's one of the easier things done in alchemy, its almost like making water turn into ice.

Reaching out, he accepts the shirt without confirmation. After draping the cloth over his arm, he claps his hands - which surely proves his point - and presses one to the shirt. After a bright light appears and dies, there's a dry shirt in it's place.]

Better than a dryer, huh?

[After a moment of staring, he reaches out to feel it, testingly. It is, indeed, dry. After surprise comes furrowing brows, lifting up the shirt, looking it over, then lowering it to look down at the alchemist, who, in retrospect, is still more normal than a Shinigami. He has no right to be surprised.]

[...But he is none the less. Enough to be speechless.]

[Huh, the guy really does seem surprised.]

The boats will be nothing too. You finally going to let me look at the map?

[Setting the shirt aside, he starts unbuttoning the one he's wearing, turning around, glancing over his shoulder as he asks.]

It's really as simple as clapping in order to change matter and perform alchemy where you're from? In that case, would you be able to duplicate a computer or a machine by looking at it?

[Ed turns too, if only because the guy obviously wants some privacy.]

That'd make it magic, not science. I have to understand the chemical makeup of whatever I'm changing, and I have to have the materials. I didn't make your shirt any bigger than it was because I didn't have extra fabric.

[He starts moving more quickly to change, unrolling the sleeves and folding his shirt before digging for the jeans and holding them out to him.]

If you have the materials, it can be made or fixed.

[Though the blonde can hear shuffling behind him, he can only assume Mikami is changing.]

I have to understand it, too. Even with computer materials, I can't make one. It's the science of understanding, decomposition, and restructure.

[He looks to the clothes rack, lamenting that the newest outfit doesn't look to be that of someone he could expect to be an engineer.]

Pants.
