Mikami's morning rounds and location logs

[Mikami's morning schedule is as follows unless interrupted;

From a little after midnight until 7AM, he'll be sleeping on the office couch, in full suit and tie, aside from his shoes at the front entrance. He's a light sleeper but not so light somebody intentionally trying not to wake him couldn't enter and do something.

At 7AM he will wake up and look out into the main area, then return to check the computer if nothing's thrown him off schedule.

Unless he makes alternate plans due to talking to anyone via computer, at 7:30 he'll briefly check the laundry room. He'll then head to the Master Bathroom and proceed with basic morning hygiene and showering.

By 8:00 he'll head to the kitchen and either interact with whoever else is there or just make coffee alone.

At 7:30, he takes Ed to the laundry room and moves the laundry to the dryer before heading to the beach with him.

...This is a rather dry read, but that's Mikami for you. For being transported into a murderous land of magic and mystery where waking up alive is perhaps a small miracle, his morning habits are quite normal. Arguably unsettlingly so. He seems entirely comfortable and at home in the setting to anyone observing.]

[Instead of whatever alarm Mikami had been planning to use - be it internal or external - there is a small blonde crashing through the door, the wood hitting the wall with a loud thud.

A little of the anger dies down when he sees a guy laying on the couch instead of someone plotting evil deeds.]

Huh? Why're just layin' there?!

[At least his sleep is only being cut into by just under five minutes. Not that he knows the time off the top of his head, even if he does know his body's habitual waking time. But it means he's decently rested. That bodes well for his reflexes. In theory, it should bode well for his attitude.

As the door slams open, Mikami sits up on the couch, reaching for his glasses perched on the back of the couch. The initial shock passes as quickly as a wide eyed look, settling into a narrow eyed glower as soon as it's decided that the intruder isn't making an immediate move to attack him. He still moves his legs off of the couch, shifts into a position where he feels he can quickly move if he needs to before responding.]

There was no presented time schedule I was aware we were required to adhere to.

[It might be hard to tell if he's being sarcastic or if his sincerity just sounds spiteful due to flat affect.]

[It's sarcasm, Ed knows.

He holds up the sheet of paper, though the writing side is facing him. The letter is badly rumpled now.]

If you're the one behind this, you're an idiot for thinking I'd play some kind of stupid game.

[Mikami's eyes dart from the paper to the office clock, then to the blonde's face. His hand holds out expectantly.]

When did you wake up?

[Instead, he pulls his hand back.]

Tryin' to figure out if your drugs lasted long enough? Sorry, I'm not going to help your psycho experiments.

[That doesn't really surprise him. His hand drops as he stands, using his height advantage to peer down at him.]

I'm a victim like yourself. I arrived here seven days ago. This is the first time anybody new has appeared.

[He heads right to the computer, deciding he's not enough of a threat that he can't take his eyes off of him.]

Your name?

[He's not the first person to peer down at Ed.

He follows, a frown still on his face.]

Ed. [Rather or not he believes him - it would be stupid to sleep so openly on the couch if he was the kidnapper, but Ed has met some stupid criminals - the blonde is more rude than hostile.]

Is that stuff true? About people dying?

No corpses have turned up yet. [Without sitting down in the chair he navigates the computer. The network post comes up, but he only frowns and skims it before heading to the drive to make sure a certain image file is still there. He doesn't open it yet.] Ed as in Edward, E-d-w-a-r-d? And your last name?

[Ed blinks, his words falling flat. Being kidnapped is a big deal, but...]

What kind of weird typewriter are you on?

Typewriter? [ He pauses, then glances to the computer with a frown. More of one than usual, that is. An inconvenienced one, even if there's a flicker of realization. ]

Where do you last remember being before here? The time and date.

February... uh, 17th, I think. [Things had been hectic.] Why? What day is it now? [How long had he slept?]

The year?

Year? 1915. How hard'd you hit your head?

[eraser_rain]

[He gestures to the chair, then starts navigating without addressing Ed's obvious point of confusion.] This is the intranet. Anybody on a computer with an account can post to the forum... A digital version of the bulletin board in the main area, essentially.

[What is this guy saying?!]

Then just use the bulletin board. Making a smaller bulletin board just so you can use a typewriter's just a waste of time. Wait. [Those eyes go to Mikami.] What's the ideal with putting my name on the board?

[His shoulders sink briefly as his eyes go to the ceiling, considering something. After a moment, he pulls up an image file with a scanned copy of his letter.] "Digital" doesn't mean anything to you. It's got its conveniences.

This is the letter I got. Let me have yours now. [He hasn't gotten any more friendly or less demanding.]

[What is he doing? What is that weird thing moving? What the hell's happening?!

Breaking out of his confusion, he pulls away at the least minute.] Forget it. If you have your own, you don't need mine. If you want it so bad, just digital it again.

[eraser_rain]

[He watches Ed pull away with a deepening scowl, turning to follow him, to step forward and keep the distance, the pressure between them.]

This "game" is a mystery to the adults who've been here for a week and are familiar with the set. You're a child and almost a full century behind.

[Another step forward, trying to grab his shoulder.] It's in your best interest to at least pretend to cooperate if you want to stand a chance at understanding anything.

[A gloved hand knocks at the one reaching for him.]

You're acting like an old man by callin' me a kid. If you wanna help me understand, you'd be answering more questions than you're asking. Who did it?

I need to know what you don't know to frame my answers. And I just said that we're still working on solving this. There may be a hint in that paper that I can give you context for.

[tochallengethesun]

It's just a letter that tells me I'm not alone, and somebody here's gonna try to kill somebody. All it talks about is that you'd know more.

[His mouth turns down in a frown.]

Stop hiding it and tell me already. What the hell's going on?

The guy's already here. [Which Mikami obviously is if he knows how to use that weird thing.] If I'm supposed to be a hostage, joke's on them. The Colonel'll just complain about how much I cost already.

That's not telling me what I need to know. You're not trying to help at all. Ahh... I should've known. What if I put it into that thing?
