Mikami's morning rounds and location logs

[Mikami's morning schedule is as follows unless interrupted;

From a little after midnight until 7AM, he'll be sleeping on the office couch, in full suit and tie, aside from his shoes at the front entrance. He's a light sleeper but not so light somebody intentionally trying not to wake him couldn't enter and do something.

At 7AM he will wake up and look out into the main area, then return to check the computer if nothing's thrown him off schedule.

Unless he makes alternate plans due to talking to anyone via computer, at 7:30 he'll briefly check the laundry room. He'll then head to the Master Bathroom and proceed with basic morning hygiene and showering.

By 8:00 he'll head to the kitchen and either interact with whoever else is there or just make coffee alone.

At 7:30, he takes Ed to the laundry room and moves the laundry to the dryer before heading to the beach with him.

...This is a rather dry read, but that's Mikami for you. For being transported into a murderous land of magic and mystery where waking up alive is perhaps a small miracle, his morning habits are quite normal. Arguably unsettlingly so. He seems entirely comfortable and at home in the setting to anyone observing.]

I'm not stupid enough to expect cooperation from somebody who will neither listen nor allow a copy of his papers to be made.

Give me a good idea, and I'll listen. I want to go home too, so I won't waste my time letting you write down a letter I could read.

It isn't writing. It's copying. It will take under a minute.

[Ed's otherwise youthful jaw tenses before relaxing. Putting up a hand in a wave, he moves to walk past Mikami.]

I'm getting out of here. I'm gonna send help, but you might make them want to stay away too.

Nobody wants to be here.

[tochallengethesun]

But you're staying here playing with typewriters instead of trying to get out. Why are you still here?

[eraser_rain]

It's an island. Now, if you want to have a further exchange of information, set your letter here. [He motions to the copier again.] You'll have a copy of it and a copy of mine in under five minutes. I'll then explain to you what I know about this island's layout. [He adjusts his glasses, trying, and failing, to sound less condescending.] You can owe me one for that.

Owe you, huh? I'm gonna pass. If we're on an island, there's trees, right? I'll just make a boat.

[eraser_rain]

[At least he doesn't seem to want to bother arguing anymore.]

Ed. As in Edward, right? And your last name?

[tochallengethesun]

Edward Elric. Do you want to trade the map for a boat or not? If you stop arguing, I won't put any holes in it. Probably.

[eraser_rain]

How reassuring.

[He just holds his hand out for the map.]

[eraser_rain]

[Mikami stares at his face, waiting for eye contact before looking to the copier, then back to him.]

[Amber eyes follow Mikami's eyes before he shakes his head.]

I can make a boat faster than anybody else. That's better than some weird box.

[eraser_rain]

That "weird box" can copy your letter and give you a copy of mine, with the map included, faster than you could draft a boat.

After I get to the trees, yeah. That's worth a map, huh?

[eraser_rain]

[A skeptical stare before he turns to the computer again, sitting down in the seat and beginning to type.] I'm letting somebody know where we're going before I have you take me someplace alone with tools.

[tochallengethesun]

Go ahead, but I won't need tools. Just be sure to bring the map.

[eraser_rain]

You're gong to make a boat in under a minute without tools. [He doesn't look away from what he's doing.]

[tochallengethesun]

Alchemy. [He says the one word and leaves it there. Surely Mikami has heard of it, he just doesn't know Ed can use it.]

[eraser_rain]

Right. Alchemy. Of course. Then, I'll take you to the beach area. [After turning off the camera feed, he lingers at the computer with a few more clicks and key presses before logging out.] Before that, I'll need to change clothes to go out. We'll need to go to the laundry room.

[There's no reason to assume sarcasm when alchemy is a very normal thing.]

There's other people here, too? You just plan on leaving them behind?
